Dr. Jessica Nguyen, O.D.

Dr. Jessica Nguyen was born and raised in Houston and developed aspirations in becoming an optometrist as early as her middle school years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Foods and Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry.

During her optometric training, Dr. Nguyen received multiple letters of clinical excellence as a student. She was given the opportunity to expand her proficiency in perioperative cataract surgery co-management at the University Eye Institute’s Ambulatory Surgery Center as a third-year student. In her fourth year, she was selected to rotate through the Ocular Surface Institute & Dry Eye Center where she learned about the various modalities of dry eye management, including LipiFlow, low-level light therapy, intense pulsed light treatments, and specialty contact lenses. Her second rotation was at a private practice where she further extended her knowledge and treatment in anterior and posterior segment ocular disease, particularly in ocular surface disease. Her final rotation was at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic, where she served the underprivileged patient population and gained immense experience in the management of corneal conditions through specialty contact lenses, glaucoma, and ocular complications from systemic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

Outside of the office, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She is also a fitness enthusiast who enjoys activities such as indoor cycling, Pilates, and powerlifting. As a native Houstonian, she loves to explore new restaurants and sushi omakase experiences.
